Room 516 [all day]

Nov 19, 2010 15:08

Sookie had been obediently on bedrest since they'd returned from Shreveport last night. Both Karla and Raven had been quite adamant about her need to sleep and rest, no matter how shiny her hair was, thanks to Bill's help. And really, she hadn't argued -- after the events of the week, there was little she wanted to do more than just let her body ( Read more... )

Karla tapped on the door and then quietly poked her head in. "Sookie?" she called quietly. "You awake?"

She wasn't even going to ask if Sookie was in. She had damn well better be.

"I'm up," Sookie said, looking up from her magazine article and giving a listless little wave. "Hey."

"Hey, honey," Karla said, still hanging in the doorway. "Mind if I come in? Chat awhile?"

Darkness knew, Karla couldn't blame Sookie if she wanted to be alone for a bit.

"Sure, but only if you've eaten something since we got back," Sookie decided. "Otherwise I'm force-feeding you cookies. And Bobby went out to get more real food."

Because Sookie was in a position to do a lot of bargaining here.

Raven had to come by and check on the patient, of course. So that afternoon she quietly knocked on the door. "Sookie, are you awake?"

"I'm awake," she assured her, managing a small smile. "Come on in, Raven. There's cookies."

Because cookies would make it all better.

Raven slipped inside the room and moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "I wanted to check on you to see how you were feeling," she said. "It was a difficult healing the first time and then to be injured again." Also, she didn't trust vampire blood. It was unnatural.

"I'm feeling better," she assured her, giving a slightly more genuine smile this time. "You guys did a good job. I'm a little tired, little weak, but Bobby's been kind of...hovery and getting things for me so I don't have to move from bed." She rolled her eyes, and added, "Someone took you guys a little literally. Makes me wish I had telekinesis."

As much as Bobby enjoyed cookies, they weren't exactly a balanced meal, and so at some point he'd managed to abandon his hovering for a few minutes to head out to grab a couple of burgers from Lacey's. And a cup of tea as well, which he'd been very careful to make sure it did not become iced tea by the time he actually made it back to Sookie's room.

"I come bearing gifts," he announced, balancing the takeout bag in one arm as he shouldered his way into the room.

"This is why you're the best," Sookie sighed with a small, but genuine smile. "Raven says I'm allowed to get out of bed, by the way." And Karla had said she wasn't crazy, so good day all around? "Oh my God, did you actually make it through town with a hot drink that stayed hot?" she added, raising a brow at him.

"I did!" he said proudly. "And I suppose if Raven says it's okay, it's okay," he relented.

"Not that I feel like getting up and dancing or doing jumping jacks or anything," she added, "but I'm getting better. I mean, look how shiny my hair is."

Not...really related to her recovery so much as ingestion of Bill's blood.
