"I wasn't as bored as I feared," Eric told Sookie as he glanced around the island one last time.

"Comments like that worry me, because I wasn't with you the whole time," Sookie mused, eyeing him.

"Everyone is still alive, if they were that way originally," Eric said, "though one sorely tried my patience." He waved his hand before reaching into his pocket and pulling out an envelope. "No matter. Here is the reason I came-your fee from Dallas."

"Fee?" she asked, taking the envelope. "You mean you actually are paying me?"

Pam was more than ready to leave and get back to civilization. "I'd say I'm sorry to go but...I'm not."

"Hey, don't lie on my behalf," Sookie assured her. "It's not like I actually made you come. I know this place is probably super-boring to y'all."

"I will admit compared to Bon Temps this place is a metropolis," Pam said. Look at that, being nice. "And you seem to be content, despite the fact that boy you're with is insufferable."
