I ventured out in public again. Which was great. I got an approving head nod from some guys. I feel fucking amazing. It's great. But I come home, and my grandmother and I start discussing hormones. Cause I'm hoping to start taking some soon... My mom butts in and asks why I'm planning on taking those. So I answered "Why do you think?" And laughed. ( Read more... )

It's a hard road. I've watched several friends make it, and it does it have bench markers. It seems like it will be "easier" for you in the way of being able to pass. Which is awesome. It means you'll be able to lead a more normal life than some of my friends, who "stick out like a big trans thumb". :) You're mom will get use to it, or she won't. I hate to say it that way, but it's the truth. Build up around you a family of people who are supportive and loving, who call you by your taken name and true gender. That's important, and someone doing otherwise is a serious mark of disrespect. I hope things have gone well for you in the past 5 months. Welcome to the family. :)
