Can I just vent a totally irrational, probably not a big deal pet peeve of mine? It's not particularly aimed at anyone who will actually read this, but it's something that consistently irritates me every time it happens.

If someone IMs you, and you're not purposefully ignoring them for some reason they should know about, answer. I find it incredibly

Sometimes I completely forget to put up an away message or I get called away on an emergency, which is happening a lot lately. And since I don't have AIM set up to show when I'm idle, sometimes that means I look like I'm available when I'm not.

I try to at least send a message after the person goes offline to let them know I did see what they sent me or what they said, but yeah.

Sometimes it's not a case of being ignored, it's that something went down and Real Life came first and didn't give me the luxury of picking an away message or logging off.

FFFFFF sorry that's not supposed to be dismissive. I guess explaining why if it happens with me, it's not me being a douche or ignoring you. Just that it's been happening a lot with me lately and I have little to no control over it. :C

o bb this entry was SO not directed at you, don't worry. And cases of emergencies are completely understandable, that's not what I was talking about. usually I end up hearing about them later. Really, there are just some people I know (who will probably never see this entry) who are repeat offenders on this topic and that's what it was directed at.
