NaNo update: the heck with this. I did a bit of good writing yesterday, but the best part (looking back) was the one where I wasn't trying to loosen up and freewrite - I'm just not immersed enough in geology that I can bubble out technobabble the way I can poetry quotations - and I've got several things I really want to work on that don't lend ( Read more... )

Go you! You cam aim for the goal that will actually get you what you want, what works for you, not what anyone else thinks you ought to be doing.

You can do that with your writing, too. ;-)

What is "picowrimo"? I checked the group but didn't see any definition. I'd like to try NaNoWriMo but simply do not have the time to churn out 50,000 words on top of everything else I have to do.

It's a "set your own goal" November writing challenge. My goal is "write something every day". They have daily chatter posts for progress updates, snippets, and so forth. I love it - it's a very friendly place. No pressure, lots of support. If you wanted to set a goal for yourself like 500 words a day, or 5000 words over the course of the month, or any other writing-related goal at all, I recommend it highly.
