Been busy. . .

Three weeks ago Lexi came to stay with me while her family was out of town. Three days after she arrived I noticed she was drinking a ton of water and peeing all the time. After a day or two of that I considered a possible UTI because the owners said she didn't normally do that. I caught some urine and took it into the vet. Sigh, not a UTI but ( Read more... )

I think these are for 2-4 placements in each class. These are in 3 different sizes and I already sent them 54 slightly larger ones in a different style. I suspect they are offering breed, obedience, agility and earth dog with prizes in everything.

Poor Lexi. Poor you and your dog family having to deal with the adjustment.

The trophies will be beautiful. So many! Does everyone get one?

Thanks. It has been a bit of a trial having to manage this diabetes. No little treats for her between meals, poor thing. That meant nobody got anything because I couldn't give my girls something and not Lexi. Apparently Schnauzers are prone to diabetes and her family was kind of expecting she would get it because her brother was diabetic. Just bad luck it occurred on my watch.

There are a ton of trophies! 1-4 in each class of everything plus the usual bigger trophies for Best of Breed, winners, High in Trials etc. hopefully everybody will win at least one!

Those tiles are adorable! LOTS! but really great looking.

Also, poor Lexi. She certainly looks adorable after her bath.

My Merc's mom is diabetic, so I am wondering if he will get it someday. The tiles are beautiful, but oh yeah, that would get old with that many.

And, pineapple? What pineapple? All I see are chocolates. ;-) My three favorite foods combined, chocolate, caramel and nuts.

other than the genetic component, what causes diabetes in dogs? it seems so strange...
How great and flexible of your dogs to go on Lexi's rigid schedule... and those glass tiles are so pretty, like jewelry

There seems to be a genetic link. These people owned the brother as well so they already went through this and they have been monitoring Lexi hoping she wouldn't get it. Sigh. I feel sorry for them since the brother just passed away a few months ago. I would keep an eye on Merc. I wonder if they do baseline glucose tests or something like that.

I am with you on the chocolate thing!! Chocolate, caramel and nuts, these were quite tasty and only when they were gone (yes, they didn't last long at all) did I break open the pineapple!

One of the top causes is obesity. They recommend a grain free diet to keep the carbs down. Lexi has been on a low fat diet but she was overweight when she came to my house. I immediately put her on a diet!
