Music geeks should immediately check out Lilypond. Doubly so if the music geek in question is also a computer geek. It's a traditionally-inspired music engraving engine. In other words, you type in your music (in a text editor! yay!), issue a command, and Lilypond spits out pretty, traditional-style sheet music in a PDF. And more. Much droolness.

I was playing some Francis Cabrel as I was getting ready for work this morning. Specifically, I was playing his Hors-saison album.
