(no subject)
Yeah yeah, so I posted like five times Thursday and then not again until today. So sue me.
Thursday night was busy. As hinted on Wednesday, I had a date with riff_77. It went swimmingly. Buca di Beppo has largely redeemed itself in my eyes after its downright sketchy performance a few years back. Its tiramisù, however, remains pretty questionable. After that, we were up chatting and hanging out well past my bedtime. Very nice.
Friday was largely low-key. Work was somewhat blah, and then I went to bed early because I was tired from a late Thursday. Had a nice surprise lunch with riff_77, though, as it turned out she had some errands to run right around the corner from my office. So Saigon Cafe and bubble tea was in order and muchly enjoyed.
Saturday evening was a party. Hung out. Met people. Played geekly games (Zombies!!! and Settlers of Catan) while others played somethingorother on the PS2 across the room. More chatting and hanging out.
Met joyeuse13 and abovenyquist for some language- and music-geeking. Was much funliness, particularly on the latter: apparently they sing with The DeKalb Choral Guild and are on the recruit. Especially for tenors. I do miss singing and am sorely tempted to check them out. The problem? It's on Monday nights and therefore soundly in conflict with tc_borderpagans. Yuck, that's a tough one to resolve. Music? Discussion? Music? Discussion? Time will tell. Since I don't actually have an email address for either of them, hopefully one or the other will notice this and email me at areidryk@hotmail.com with the who, what, where, why, and how.
Also met mr_z and chrispee42 and spent a bit more time around celticmoni, whom I'd somehow managed to mostly avoid in recent contacts with their little clan. I'm certain I met some other folks as well, but LJ names are failing me at the moment. So reply and yell at me, dammit :-)
After most of the crowd had left, had some more nice hang-out time with riff_77 before radiantbaby and I went home and collapsed after a little hanging out of our own :-)
All in all an enjoyable weekend so far. I think I might go have a nice relaxing sit-down with my Saussure this evening.
