Moving Help Requested, and House for Rent

Jun 01, 2009 15:18

Most of you have probably heard the rumors by now. Well, they’re true: radiantbaby and I are moving into town. Like immediately. This weekend we’ll be moving ourselves - along with bed, computers, and other necessities - from our old house in Cumming to our new house in Clarkston. Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated, and reimbursed with soda ( Read more... )

Oh man, the timing is all wrong for me, but I still want to ask, does that house have a fenced-in yard?

As it happens, the Cumming house does have a fenced-in backyard. It’s not huge, but it’s functional. Oh, and a garden with a rosemary plant bigger than I am, and wonderful-smelling roses out front.

Can you quantify “all wrong” for the timing? ;-)

I can't really quantify it. I think my father's estate should be settled before the summer is over and I can legally sell or rent the properties that will be in my name. Financially, I can afford to move now and would have more than enough of a cushion to find myself a job and look at education opportunities, I just haven't moved yet because of the need to settle things here, and that I need to straighten out my credit (which, again, I can do once the estate is settled finally ( ... )

Chat with your peeps. Do your thing. I don’t have anyone ready to move in right now: just one or two people who’ve shown an interest.

For me, I have to have a lease in my hands by the end of July - and preferably earlier - or the bank won’t give me a mortgage to buy my new house in Clarkston. Of course, it’s conceivable that they may be OK with a lease starting a month or three down the line, as long as it’s signed by the end of July.

That’s not your problem, though: Your sanity level takes precedence over my financial situation. ;-)

Great! My guess is that it'll probably be about 11:00AM or so when we start (which is when we are starting on Saturday). I'll try to keep you posted over then next day or so.

It probably makes the most sense for Mark and me to help unloading at the Clarkston end. Let us know as the plan evolves.

Not sure what days you are available, but it looks like we should be getting to Clarkston about mid-afternoon on both days. justben or I can give you a call when we are leaving Cumming and we can meet at the Clarkston house. It would probably be best if you parked in Anna and Ben's driveway though, since our driveway is small and will likely be mostly filled by the moving truck.

Great! We're telling people (right now it might just be you and my mother!) to meet us at the Cumming house between 10:00-11:00 AM and then we'll start packing up the truck. After that, we'll head to Clarkston, unpack (with possibly a few helpers on the other side), and then have some pizza and such.

The Cumming address is:
2440 Belaire Drive
Cumming, GA. 30041

I'll be happy to give you directions if you need. We might even be able to help with gas money as well.

It's likely that there will be a moving truck in the drive-way when you get there, but Ben might still be getting it. Parking on the side of the road should be okay. There are tiny ditches between the grass and the road, but you shouldn't have any trouble.

Call me if you have trouble or anything at 6785243930 or Ben at 6785242422!
