Most of you have probably heard the rumors by now. Well, they’re true: radiantbaby and I are moving into town. Like immediately. This weekend we’ll be moving ourselves - along with bed, computers, and other necessities - from our old house in Cumming to our new house in Clarkston. I can't really quantify it. I think my father's estate should be settled before the summer is over and I can legally sell or rent the properties that will be in my name. Financially, I can afford to move now and would have more than enough of a cushion to find myself a job and look at education opportunities, I just haven't moved yet because of the need to settle things here, and that I need to straighten out my credit (which, again, I can do once the estate is settled finally).

There are other hurdles to consider, such as the kiddo's schooling for one (and the headache of setting up an IEP and doing testing for kindergarten), and whether or not I'm emotionally and mentally strong enough for the stress of a big move, job hunting, and childcare searching.

If you've got someone willing to move in right away, go ahead because I can't honestly give you an answer right this instant, and I won't be in the area again until the last week of the month or week before to look at the property. However, I will talk it over with Sam and with my mother for their opinions.

Chat with your peeps. Do your thing. I don’t have anyone ready to move in right now: just one or two people who’ve shown an interest.

For me, I have to have a lease in my hands by the end of July - and preferably earlier - or the bank won’t give me a mortgage to buy my new house in Clarkston. Of course, it’s conceivable that they may be OK with a lease starting a month or three down the line, as long as it’s signed by the end of July.

That’s not your problem, though: Your sanity level takes precedence over my financial situation. ;-)

If nothing else, I can at least look at it when I'm in town. Either Saturday the 20th or 27th. That gives me time to really assess where I am, and think about it. Just don't feel bad if you get an offer and have to take it. I totally understand. :)
