Fine as Frog Hair

Fine as frog hair. That was my coworker's response when I asked him how he was doing today. I am amused.

No kidding. There was this manager at my old job who had the craziest sayings. I can't even remember them, but he had a million. Same kind of thing. He just rattled 'em off all the time. Funny stuff.

Now I'd like to reply to your comment, but I'm afraid "Aw" doesn't give me much to work with. Those two letters -- especially when accompanied with a nondescript punctuation like a period -- could mean anything from disappointment to appreciation of cuteness, with quite a spectrum of possibilities in between. I'm afraid you'll just have to try harder if you want a meaningful response. :-)

I don't think I've heard that one either, actually.

"Fair to middlin'" is pretty common. Haven't heard the other.

That's new to you? I've heard that all my life. It's very common where I grew up, among the older people. My mom says it from time to time. I can't recall the first time I heard it but it was probably before I was old enough to have written it down.

Wow. I'd actually never heard it before today. Interesting.
