I know a lot of other people have been mentioning it, too, but... that doesn't mean I shouldn't also extend my thanks...

Thank you, to whomever sent the paper crane to me. I really do appreciate it... it was very encouraging.... I wonder if I could make a thousand ( Read more... )

I think the point is...making a thousand of something with a wish in mind isn't about casting magic. It's about your dedication to make that wish come true. With that kind of perseverance, you can make anything happen.

It would be nice, I think... if it were magic, and you could really make a wish that way.

But I also think you're right. Making things come true... sometimes you do have to do it on your own.

When you do it with your own power, you can really appreciate it more.

Paper cranes give people wishes? How?

It's a legend... I've only heard it a few times from Kaguya, but.

Cranes live for a thousand years, and they're very powerful... well, that's how the legend goes. And if you make a thousand of them out of paper, you can have a wish granted, too.

You can wish for anything?

I haven't heard that you can't... it was just "a wish" in the story.

How long does it take to make one?

Just one? It takes... hold on-!

[four minutes later...]

Just a few minutes? I think I'm a little slow, though, I'm not sure...

So call it about five minutes. That's five thousand minutes of time invested for one thousand paper cranes. Minus five for the one you already made, that's four thousand nine hundred and ninety-five minutes. That's about eighty-three hours.

So it'd take about three and a half days of nonstop folding to get your thousand.

Perhaps you'd all have to agree on a wish that you all shared before you started.

But that would be a little difficult.

Or not so much, depending on the wish... or the people.

Maybe not.

If you made a thousand paper cranes, what would you wish for?

For someone's health.

I believe it's only one wish for one person.

Hmm...

Maybe we can all work on them separately, then, just... together.

Whatever you think is the best course of action.

Do you want to do it?
