I figured I'd take a break from talking about Pros, and fic, to talk, not about horses for once, but about cats ...

For a variety of reasons, Mr. JaC and I have decided to get a kitten...this will make five cats for us, which is a bit ridiculous and perhaps makes us Crazy Cat People, but of those five one is 16, and another - Arnold - is 14 with ( Read more... )

I'm practically killing myself with cute! *g*

And *nine* cats - OMG, that's just mind-boggling... Though of course if someone had told me that I'd have *five*, I'd have said the same thing. But one more doesn't *seem* like such a big deal ... And five is positively reasonable compared to nine! *g* *g*

Yep, kitties everywhere! *g* And I'm glad you like Conan - as soon as it occurred to me I knew it was perfect; I've been thinking of him as Conan ever since we decided to do it, and it just feels right.

In a very odd coincidence, after we'd decided on the name we got an email from Dan's second cousin and his wife (cat people) that their cat had died - and his name was Conan (Conan Katz! *g*). At first I thought maybe we should reconsider, but then I figured it might be a really nice gesture - and it's kind of Jewish thing, too, to name a new baby after someone no longer alive. Happily they agreed, so Conan now has double significance....

Baby kitties! They're all just so adorable, the baby babies and the older babies. I have to admit I'm more than a bit jealous. I keep thinking I'd love to have a wee one in the house again, but then I look at feisty 15 pd Griz and realize a kitten would probably end up traumatized by his "playing." I'm sure Conan will settle in quickly and be embraced, or at least tolerated, by the rest of the clan.

My cats are all so ... domesticated; they've all experienced new kittens coming to live with them, and none of them is particularly feisty. I'm not sure why, it just worked out that way! So I'm really hoping Conan is embraced and not just tolerated ... but we'll see.

Nothing like a kitten, though, it's true!!

Wow, the new kitten is a sweetie. And it's great to see pics of the other cats. (I have a soft spot for Coco. Or is that Cocoa?)

Can't wait for the day when it makes sense for us to get a cat.

Actually it's Koko! Mr. J wanted to name him "Kinko" because of the kink in his tail, but I put my foot down at naming our cat after a copy center, so Koko it was ...

And really, there's *nothing* like cats. I can't imagine life without them!!
