Cat stuff
I figured I'd take a break from talking about Pros, and fic, to talk, not about horses for once, but about cats ...
For a variety of reasons, Mr. JaC and I have decided to get a kitten...this will make five cats for us, which is a bit ridiculous and perhaps makes us Crazy Cat People, but of those five one is 16, and another - Arnold - is 14 with kidney disease.
Arnold - who was, yes, named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, but way before he became a politician (because I was young, and in an Arnold fan phase...) - is a little Burmese (only 6 lbs!), and while I love all of them, he in particular is incredibly, incredibly special to me. Part of the reason for getting this new kitten is to have a sort of ... legacy for Arnold (okay, maybe that's stupid, but it feels right). So in honor of Arnold, the new kitty is a Burmese, too, but European rather than American, and a completely different color, since I don't want an Arnold clone.
And his name is going to be, yes, Conan!
I'm a little nervous - I hope the other cats don't have too difficult a time adjusting, particularly Arnold. But he's adjusted well to new additions before (Koko and Zoe both came after Arnold), so I'm hopeful it will work out.
Conan won't be coming home until February 10, but I have pictures....
