Request for action movies, some FF music links

Can anyone rec a good action movie? I seem to be drawing all the ones that irritate the heck out of me - Bodyguards and Assassins, Man From Nowhere (watching that one now and though there are some good moments, the pacing is too slow, the fight scenes average, the detectives f-ing annoying). Movies I have liked: Exiled, Memento, the first Bourne ( Read more... )

movie, music, show: sherlock, question, game: final fantasy

Oooooooooooh, if you're open to the BBC, you should definitely check out Spooks. SUCH a good series. I'm currently trying to catch up on Season 9 and 10, but seriously, this is a great action series.

Will check out music links later. I always enjoy your recs.

I don't think I have much time for a full on series (Sherlock was easy to fit during the break) but I have heard of Spooks!

Oh, one of my buddies linked me to this in chat - nice funky house~

Holy crap, the violin dude and the electric guitar dude are amaaazing. Must check out their other things!

I didn't really dig the hip hop version. And with 13-2... uh... why did Lightning get the girly makeover?? Ugh. Not impressed.

TAMusic has just gotten better over the years, even doing official remixes and such! I was pretty appalled at myself for never having found the electric guitar dude until now. So. Freakin. Good.

OMG 13-2, IDEK DX!! I don't know how I feel about the ending for it either (at least, the one that has to do with Lightning). I really want to write fic 'cause Lightning! So cool. Fang too. *squirms in fangirly restlessness!*

Oh, that was okay. Donnie Yen was quite good in that and definitely the fighting scenes were good. But I don't know, been wanting something more... More what, I'm not sure (plot?) 'cause I recognize it as a good martial arts movie.

Is "Exiled" the Hong Kong film directed by Johnnie to? Cause if you liked that the man has a gazillion other movies just as good waiting for you to watch.

Yups! I'm slowly making my way through 'em - watched Election before vacation, which was really interesting since so many of the same actors were also in Exiled XD There's a couple of titles of his on Netflix - looking to watch Triangle next.

Triangle is pretty interesting: It's three directors doing a relay kind of deal where one person writes and directs the first thirty minutes, then the second guy writes and directs the second thirty minutes, then the last guy has to tie it all up.

Mad detective is super good.
