I also view my period as a cleansing/renewal. Only recently I started thinking about blood as a symbol of life and death, thus my silly theory. I was probably projecting my current feelings about death (I am okay with it and only mildly 'afraid' for the lack of my existence) upon a majority of women. Thank you for your insight. blood doesnt make me think of life or death. so this really depends on what you relate blood with.

blood makes me think of cholesterol and cheerios. white & red blood cells. essentially, thats thinking of life, if you really wanna get particular. however when i see blood i dont panic, or assume the worst. blood is just, blood.

Great thoughts my dear! Like I said to boot_theory, it may be my own projection of blood, thus the generalization. When one places logic on such a natural occurrence, it always seems like logic runs into a wall. Blood for cleansing in a periodic setting for a set amount of years? How pecular? Anyway, I'm happy you all chimed in. :)
