Quote #02: Essays of Idleness: Part 1 (Yoshida Kenko)

Dec 06, 2010 14:50

This one has waaaay to many quotes to be posted all at once. It takes up to ten pages of my quote book >_< So I'll just divide them into a few posts because too many good sayings at once is not really good after all xD

If you intend to read it, a fair warning: some parts of it probably are going to make you mad as hell, but no harm in taking the good ones and discarding the bad ones, right? 8D

It was really the case of stumbling upon a diamond among rocks for me lol It's sometimes like that with library books xD

I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with 73.

It depends on the context, I suppose? I think he was talking about someone who witnessed an incident and then retold it falsely.

I think it would depend on how boring the incident was... coz both fact and fiction can be equally boring or exciting depending on your personal perspective of the subject XD;

Er, I'm not sure I get what you mean orz Why would one lie about it? I mean, if it's boring then it's boring and if it's exciting then it's exciting, why tell it differently? o.o
