Let's get the technical stuff out of the way. This is an awesimsauce / pixel_trade Legacy. You can read the detailed rules about an Awesimsauce Legacy here, but I'll explain the gist of it: Ten generations, each designated with a specific color, that have different challenges associated with them. The naming scheme also has to correlate with the theme of colors, so I chose the Foster's.
The family's last name is in reference to Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, one of my favorite cartoon series ever. Its hilarious, but more importantly, its very colorful. Our founder is named after the main character in the series: Bloo:
So, every child born in this legacy will be named after an imaginary friend that resides in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
The other stipulation is each of the spouses must be from a donated Sim from pixel_trade. I only start out with a few from a couple of the members, however, the further we get into it, the more you'll see the Sims I've downloaded. I don't want to repeat any creators of the spouses. Variety is the spice of life.
This is Bloo Foster. She's a typical Cancer who likes to study a lot. She loves grey haired men in swimsuits. Her lifetime goal is to max out all 7 skills.
You may recognize her {but most likely not}. She's a Hermione from my download a sim post. I really wanted to play her, so I took her out of my townie pool and made her founder.
I cheated a little, but I did it for a good cause! Since her LTW wasn't career related, I wanted to use Bloo to beta test the Time Lord career made by dana_cz. No cute welcome wagon/birdwatch pics from me. She appeared and went straight to work! Promotion first day! :D And apparently...a new friend.

After a night of fun and frolicking {but no whoohoo}, work continued the next day. Chance card! And a quick peek at her little house.

Just so you know that Bloo's still there. She's just been skilling like a mad woman for her promotions. I want to make sure there's nothing wrong with the custom career.
And back to Domenik. But look! He's had his blue make-over. At least I was able to keep him off the bike long enough to get the make-over done. Pass-out #4.
I feel you.
And this is the result of multiple pass-outs and not enough work. But the wallpaper is so happy! Aspiration Failure #2.
I don't really know how you put up with him.
