No doubt affected by the fact that I spent last week simultaneously (well, perhaps alternately would be a better word) reading Cell by Stephen King and Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz, I had a dream last night in which I was being chased by clown zombies. This is rather weird, actually, because... well, okay, no qualification needed. It's just ( Read more... )

Come on out, you can have lunch with us. I can't promise there will be any clowns on the highway though. What are the odds of that happening twice??

I'd get a kick out of seeing people in the lane next to me do a double-take.

Yeah, that's why I moon people, too. :)

I enjoyed the book. I don't know how I missed it, usually I have at least a pretty good idea when his books come out, even if I don't read them. But this one I happened across at the store and checked the date and realized it came out just a couple of years ago. I think I'd read almost all of his newer books (The Face, Odd Thomas, more I can't think of) so I have no idea how I missed this one. :) Anyway, I liked it. I'm still not quite sure I understand everything that happened (like the one time all the stuff happened a week before the day it was expected), but by and large I thought it was a good book.

I liked Cell a lot, too. I mostly gave up reading Stephen King 10 or so years ago and so I haven't even picked up his newer books. But I gave this one a chance and enjoyed it.

I think he explained that his grandpa was off on that date since he was going out of his mind or something.

Hmm I'll have to try that one, sounded good by the jacket description. I started reading his books a long time ago but some of them I had to stop because they didn't make sense.

Yeah, you should give it a try. I used to love King books, but then they just got ridiculously long-winded for me, and reading his stuff became terminally boring. I don't know if he's better now or if the subject matter just kept me interested, but I didn't feel that way at all with this book.
