Apparently, there was a baby shower in my office today. Well, I shouldn't say "apparently." I knew it was happening and all. I was even given an invitation. But I sort of thought they were kidding. As it turns out, we were all actually expected to go. So I did, because my boss told me too. Granted, he told me before leaving for the airport ( Read more... )

See, I knew that word would come up eventually, which is why I got the heck out of there. I do NOT need to hear one of my coworkers use that word. :)

I was traumatized as a child when one of the Harlem Globetrotters pretended he was about to throw the ball at my head. :)

Not all girls like that shit. I HATE it. I hate baby showers and wedding showers...all that crap (and I hate makeup parties and candle parties too). I am always an ass about it (just give me the catalog so I can order ok?). I have to hide my snarkyness. NOT easy. I refuse to play those games. Melting chocolate in a diaper and playing "Guess the Poop" (yes really) is NOT funny. I do not like "cakes" made out of diapers. At bridal showers I have a hard time with "Let's make wedding gowns out of toilet paper!" NO GAMES. They are stupid. I told my cousin if I ever get married she knows the rules. If she does any of that crap I will kick her ass. I don't think she would ( ... )

Being the person opening the gifts, and being watched, is equally uncomfortable.

Oh I COMPLETELY agree. I hate birthdays. I used to plug my ears when my family sang to me. Uncomfortable all around if you ask me. Oh! Let's make it a tradition! Makes a lotta sense...oh yeah.

I can definitely understand that. Oh, and I forgot you'd be reading this. I'm sure your baby shower was much better than this one. :)

This is why baby showers are traditionally for women only. Weird rituals that men simply don't get! :}

But, the last shower I attended was co-ed, and we drank booze and smoked cigars! I think you'd have like it!

Well, since I never drink nor smoke, it probably wouldn't be my thing either. Unless the extra lubrication got you ladies into the pajamas faster. ;)
