Oh the partying, it do come with a price, but one I am apparently quite willing to pay. :D
And the thing is, well, no one ever wants to admit this, but there really is a worldwide network of lesbians who all know each other and share pot luck recipes and the like. I told them you were good people.
So lemme tell ya a true story that happened at my work today.
A friend of mine got interviewed a week (week and a half?) ago. On Friday I got copied on an email saying they want to make her an offer. I texted her "you didn't hear it from me, but..." Today I got copied on an email that we don't have a requisition open for that position in the Austin office and we have to file a req before they can make an offer. Reqs have to be signed by my boss and then by the CEO, nobody else. My boss is on vacation until Monday. God only knows how long it will take the CEO to sign it after that.
If my friend didn't know me, she'd be sitting at home thinking she was being passed over for sure.
You know, this is a very good point, and really doesn't surprise me very much. I remember how S-L-O-W the process was with Payless. I can't imagine it's super speedy quick at any big ol' corporate place! Thanks for the story! :)
