This was so hard because your descriptions had many characters appearing in my mind. I love the 1 Corinthians 13 chapter! I'm going to go with Perconte because of a lot of what you described reminded me of him during boot camp and then later on in "Why We Fight", although Doc Roe would be my second choice!

I saw some Winters at the beggening, then some Roe... but finally, for me, you settled as Lipton! The compassion, being humble, leading by exemple but not thinking yourself as a good leader, even though you probably are, fun but hard to get close to... you don't seem like a complicated person, but deep (if you say what I mean? I mean, you don't make a fuss and you're happy with not a lot kind of simple, not... the insulting kind). The way you speak about yourself reminds me of him a lot, in general.
