GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Mandy
Age: 17
1./ If you could have one job, what would it be?
Unsure... I've been looking at teaching, possibly art or history. Most people hate going to school but I've had teachers that really made the class fun but useful, I'd love to be able to do that. Aside from that, I'd like to be a police sketch artist, a media director for a church or something, or animation.
2./ What are your four worst qualities?
I always criticize myself and what I do. It's practically impossible for me to please myself. I can always do better.
Somewhat distant or difficult to relate to. I'm nice to people, they're nice back and I have alot of friends, but few people get close and I can't rightly say I have a "best" friend.
Emotions other than cheery or happy are difficult for me to express. I can laugh, smile and show people I love them but when I'm upset I don't really know what to do and end up either shutting myself away for a bit or just flat out lying about it being alright. People have their own issues, they don't need mine anyways.
Kind of tying into that above, I don't get angry easily but when I do, I get pissed. It's almost explosive but extremely short and I get over it very, very quickly. Usually I end up taking it out on the person nearest to me but then I feel absolutely horrible afterward and do everything I can to make it up to them.
3./ What are your four best qualities?
Compassion. It breaks my heart to see people get hurt and I'll do anything I can to keep it from happening to them. If I can't do that, I'll cry with them if they need it.
Love everyone, judge no one. This is what my Lord calls on me to do. It doesn't matter your race, age, gender, orientation or religion, I treat everyone with the same love, kindness and respect as I do the person before them.
Honesty. Sometimes I might get brutally blunt with it, but (with exceptions when I'm really angry...) I never say anything unless I really mean it.
I love to have a good time and make people laugh! Whenever I'm with my friends we end up laughing until we cry and we have so many good memories, no matter the situation. Sometimes when people are down all they really want is some fun to cheer them up.
4./ Describe yourself in five words or fewer.
I'm not here for nothing.
5./ Describe your leadership style.
Purely by example. I don't think I have the charisma to really lead people, but if I can set a good enough example then people will be inspired and follow that. Hopefully!
6./ How do you think others would describe you?
People say I'm generally very likeable and fun, but difficult to approach and sometimes talk to. I have a lot of friends but I'm not someone people get particularly close to. I'm really not sure why, I'm always open to conversation and will definitely go along with it, sometimes spark one up, but I guess I just have that feeling to me. Oh well though, I've got my God, my family, and a few close friends I trust, so I'm alright. (:
7./ When under a lot of pressure, how do you manage it?
Panic a little bit, but keep it to myself. Then I really get down to business and work hard and nobody better interrupt me!
8./ Pick one that describes you the best.
a./ Introvert or Extrovert (self-motivated or action/people-motivated): Introvert.
b./ Logical or Intuitive (go with concrete fact or trust your gut): Intuitive, gut never fails but "concrete facts" have let me down.
c./ Thinking or Feeling (follow your head or follow your heart): Feeling.
d./ Shy or Outgoing: Somewhere in between. I'm not all that shy, but I'm no life of the party.
e./ Optimistic or Pessimistic: Very optimistic.
9./ How do you show that you care about others?
I do little things for them, like bringing along an extra water bottle if I know they get thirsty and don't have one, some Advil if they get headaches frequently, or go out of my way to pick something up for them. I also like to bake often, and love sharing it with people, so I sometimes bake little goodies and give them out to my friends and people I care about.
10./ Give us a quote.
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
- 1 Corinthians 13
11./ Who is your hero and why? (Does not have to be anyone famous.)
My grandmother, she was really amazing to me. She was the one who taught me how to paint and even though she has passed she still inspires me to continue pursuing art. Not only that, but she was just so loving to everyone that came her way, no matter who they were. My family is large and somewhat broken, but anyone was always welcomed to her, whether they were blood related or not. She made even people who weren't family feel like it.
And also, my friend Bryon. He's been through so much crap and so many situations that should have made him a cynical jerk, but he's one of the most compassionate people I know. I know he's been hurt badly but all it's done is show him how to not hurt anyone else.
QUESTIONS RELATED TO BAND OF BROTHERS
1./ Favourite soldier in Easy Company. Why?
Ahhh it's so hard to choose one. I have yet to see the entire series, but I'm really liking Roe. I've got a soft spot for medics, I think, haha. :)
2./ Favourite episode or favourite chapter in the book. Why?
Kinda like Day of Days... The action in the beginning is really intense and I love watching that.
3./ If you had been alive in World War Two and eligible for military service, what branch would you have joined? What job would you have wanted (infantry, artillery, medic, pilot, at all.)? Why?
Medic. I'd rather save lives than take them.
4./ Okay, so now you're in the military. What is the one thing you want to send or bring home from Europe?
Nothing, I'd already be stuck with the memories, why would I want to give them a form?
5./ The war in Europe is over. Would you be willing to go fight in the Pacific? Why or why not?
Probably not. I've done my duty and I don't want to fight anymore.
6./ What are your plans for when you return home?
Continue life as normally as possible? You know, family, quiet house, relaxing town, the usual.
