Ack! There is absolutely no reason in the world why people should treat other people that way. Normally I just let things like that slide right off my back (though I take it a little personally, I never let it show via my actions) but there are just some days that it is so hard to just stand there and take that...especially if it's been a barrage of meanness for 45 minutes!
I can also relate to your being so shocked...this has happened to me too. In all honesty...there's just no need for it and what do they think they are accomplishing by getting so irate? Sheesh!
