World, what is with the guilt trips lately? It's really discouraging when you're doing what you can to scrape by and try to make enough money to live your own life when people are reminding you that either a) FINDING JOBS IS EASY, LOL, WHY ARE YOU STILL WORKING AT A PIZZA PLACE or b) I'M LUCKY TO HAVE A JOB I'M GOING TO REMIND YOU, ONE OF MY BEST ( Read more... )

unnecessary whining, goddamn angst, capslock!, stupid rant, pizzamongering, i am a bitch, jobs

You don't want to work at a fab clothing store anyway. Then you have to put up with all the bitches and assholes that think they're better than you. Like those girls, how dare they poo poo someone who's out working when they, themselves, don't even have jobs. UGH. I'd like to kick people like them in the teeth.

Trust me, after my mom worked at a JC Penny's, I'm glad I wasn't hired at one when I was sending out mass amounts of apps. Especially since my mother had her own incredibly gross stories from working there, especially in the dressing rooms, that pretty much make getting splashed in pizza sauce NOTHING. (And honestly, it really is nothing. The only reason I take a long shower afterwards is that I get sweaty because my body sucks at temperature regulation apparently and I always go home smelling of pizza. Not a BAD thing, per se, I love the smell of pizza, needless to say, but even my father who is addicted to CiCi's appreciates the fact I wash the smell off...I guess it's like how bacon smells wonderful, but you don't want to smell like it yourself.)

And yeah, there were all sorts of sharp-tongued things I wished I could say, but alas, they all probably would've gotten me fired. Too bad I don't think the story fits quite what "Not Always Right" is looking for, because the stupidity levels are a direct match.

I have a tablet that you might be interested in.
It's an Intuos2 4x5. The only downside is it plugs into the computer via a serial port, and when I got my mac it didn't have one, so I had to get a USB tablet. It's a really great tablet and the only reason I don't use it is because I physically can't.

I was thinking of finding someone to sell it to who couldn't afford a new one. Interested?

And yeah I totally understand about the job thing. My theatre job was making me so absolutly miserable and everyone was always like "AT LEAST YOU HAVE A JOB!>!!>!@?#ESGHb"
I think that whole "other people have it worse than you" business works for those who don't already struggle with things like depression or what have you. Some days I just want to walk around with a shirt that says, "Yes, I already feel bad about it"

blegh.

Hrmm...that may work. I had looked at Intuos 2 models since they're the earlier Wacoms made in Japan like my current Graphire that are built crazy strong but I am just so wary when it comes to used electronics on eBay or elsewhere. (Needless to say, all the Intuos 2 models, and now even most of the Intuos 3 models are used ( ... )

I second what mahrkale said. Department store jobs are teh SUCK. If you think people are horrible when it comes to their food, how it's served & how it tastes, then they're ten times worse when it comes to 'THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS ITEM OF CLOTHING THAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE WHEN I BOUGHT IT BUT ISN'T ANYMORE SO I WANT MY MONEY BACK NOW.' Would you really want to deal with those kinds of people ( ... )

Oh trust me, I am happy with pizzamongering. (frostdemn coined that phrase, and he's JEALOUS because he just wants to go to a CiCi's, PERIOD.) I have never encountered Not Always Right material there when it comes to customers, they are (almost) always so nice and friendly and happy to be there. Asides from the fact that it's frustrating to get sent home or told there's not enough business for me to bother coming to work, I really enjoy the job and, believe it or not, my coworkers, because it seems they managed to hire cool geeky-types. (I've talked about DeviantArt to several of them, and Looney Tunes, Doctor Who, Tale Spin, Star Trek, Invader ZIM with various coworkers and got to see The Princess and the Frog with one of my old MANAGERS because she didn't have anybody to see animated movies with, either. C'mon, how cool is that ( ... )

Yeesh, kids like that make me happy I got my pride beaten out of me before I started job hunting. I'm willing to work pretty much anywhere.

...Except gas stations. The smell would fry my brain in a week.

And easy to find a job? In THIS economy? Yeah, either those kids have some crazy connections or they have no idea what the real world is like. I've been pushing apps for 6 months now and have gotten like, one interview. The times they are hard. X_x

(Then again, some of the comments about clothing stores are making me start to regret living next to a mall. I feel a little better about not getting that Macy's job now. xD;)

Anyways, I've never had a job so maybe I'm just ignorant, but you can always apply for other jobs while working this one, right? I mean, if you really dislike your job, you can leave if you find something better, and like you said; the longer you work there the better your resume looks. It's all about keeping at it. :)
