I was terrified.
To this day I still feel a residual uneasiness about Care Bears, and literally cannot handle any fiction about a specific absence of color. Black and white movies don't count, but Pleasantville is right out, and I still get sick to my stomach when I think about The Giver.
Children's television is powerful stuff.

I have fond, fond memories of Muppet Babies, too--given I was born in 1980, I remember this much better than The Muppet Show, which ended in like 1981? 82? This past year I managed to get my hands on Perfectly Legal copies of all the episodes, and watched the entire series again. It made me realize how much my personality was a mash-up of baby Miss Piggy and baby Gonzo.
