Proposition 8 was passed in California.

This isn't right, I can't even imagine the pain that current same-sex married couples are feeling right now.  :\

It comes to show why voting for what you believe in is so important. Even if you think you know your state and find no reason to vote for a candidate, there are OTHER ISSUES that need to be ( Read more... )

i know i couldn't believe it!!!!! D: it was due in part to the crazy religious ppl, they raised a lot of money to defeat it D: so sad. we still have a long way to go in terms of homophobia

Yeah!!

And it makes me angry to know that some people didn't register at all to vote because they knew their state was already red or blue!

I'm hearing people from Illinois saying that didn't vote because they knew Obama was going to win our state.

What if you didn't register to vote in California because you knew that it was a blue state, yet you believed in same-sex marriage? That would definitely benefit the interest of those who are for Prop 8.

It's just so shocking to me that it was passed, and yeah, homophobia seems to be our next barrier that we need to break down as a nation. :\

ALSO SAD SAD THAT Arkansas has banned gay couples from adopting, how fucking selfish. kids needs homes! as if straight people always make the best parents, plz D:

That IS really selfish! Aren't evangelicals more likely to divorce too. >o>;; I heard on CNN that the voter outcome throughout the nation was around 63% or something, I'll check the site for Cali~ It can always be higher though. lol :\

Another stupid excuse I hear not to vote is evading jury duty, I mean please. LOL

It sucks so much, I actually knew a couple who was planning on getting married. :/

I actually thought it wasn't going to pass.

I know, I can't believe it!!! I REALLY thought Prop 8 wouldn't pass. I thought America was above this discrimination...but apparently not. :(((
