Ok. I have the PS3. Fire off your recommendations for the best games...fantasy/RPG and world-builder types. Rock Band/Guitar Hero are certainly possibilities. First-person shooters make me queasy. And I already have Hot Shots Golf :)

If you like hosting friends, Rock Band is probably the best party game you can get.

GTA IV is great for random psycho/misanthopist streaks where you just need to blow off some steam by stealing cars and running over pedestrians.

Rock Band, no question. It's the game that gets non-gamers (like Jeff) to play. We love it. And we can even form a band together with you over the internet and play together.

Rock Band is a must-have. It's the reason to buy one of these consoles.

If you happen to be at a used video game store, see if you can find a game for PS2 called Katamari Damacy. It's supposedly compatible with PS3 and it's pure genius.

Rock band is literally my favorite thing in the world, right now! I have a friend who has it and a neighbor who does. I have yet to not be in the mood for it or to not enjoy the hell out of it each and every time. I know you are musically inclined, and this is the best of all worlds - music AND games!
