said. It sounds trite, but it really is true. They know when they've had enough. I can't describe it-- Max did that, and it tore me apart, but he was just so tired and he wasn't going to get better, and he knew it. You'll know. Really.

I will take y'all word for it. He's my first dog so I've never faced this issue before. I just wanted to vent and do the right thing.

I"m going to echo the above. I've lost two dogs now and I can tell you that they will let you know. From your description he isn't ready yet.
