Action Comics 850

So a couple of weeks ago I read Action Comics 850. It's a Supergirl story and she's trying to find out about herself but uses Clark instead etc. Yeah I don't care much about Supergirl and this issue she didn't endear herself to me. That's just fine though cause I spent too much time enjoying a glimpse of Clark Kent. First through the years and then as he was growing up and until present day. I decided to do a picspam of some of my favorite scenes of the comic. This is partly inspired by darthphere's stunning icons.

The Cover

First we get a glimpse at Old School Superman which is fine with me cause there's nothing I like more than fast talking girl reporters and men in fedoras. It was also fun to see the different Superman Universes. Mullet Superman how I've missed you. ;-)

Later on we get one scene of Clark giving Ma Kent yet another heart attack and then a sweet scene between mother and son. I enjoyed this mostly because besides being poignant you never get enough of these in the Superman lore. It's mostly about father and sons. This was a long time coming.

Next up is the first time Superman ever does his thing. Yeah I could see how this would take some getting used to. Especially if you're a small town boy who was always in the background.

This scene again Clark talking to his mom and you start getting a glimpse of how lonely is life really is even with in the Superhero community

A Lois and Clark scene. I never get bored of these. A simple scene about children namely about not being able to have any.

Some brooding but oh so pretty.

And finally what the issue was about family. I love the smile at the end and again another Lois and Clark scene. Lois can read him so well.

I loved this issue and I know a lot of it has to do with Kurt Busiek's writing and yes I know Johns wrote some but Busiek has such a wonderful grasp of the character. I don't think Superman has been written this well in a long time. Busiek writes him as he should be.
