Action Comics 850

Jun 11, 2007 18:10

So a couple of weeks ago I read Action Comics 850. It's a Supergirl story and she's trying to find out about herself but uses Clark instead etc. Yeah I don't care much about Supergirl and this issue she didn't endear herself to me. That's just fine though cause I spent too much time enjoying a glimpse of Clark Kent. First through the years and ( Read more... )

I have not a clue. I guess another bratty teenager. *sigh*. Rumor has it there's gonna be a Supergirl character on Smalliville next year. I'm not exactly looking forward to it.

I love this post and I love this issue and I'm exhausted so that's about all my brain is managing to summon up but I'll be back in the morning.

For now - WORD on Busiek.

Okay I'm back. The thing I like the best about this post is the way we both loved the same scenes and now I don't have to scan them but can just link everybody over here instead *g ( ... )

Squee! Thank you. The Martha scene. Oh my god. It's exactly what she needed to hear and her son said it. I felt the same about the Camelot falls story line but I found myself intrigued. If I see Busiek's name on it I check it out. Again thank you for your wonderful comments!

Word yo. Supergirl is just freaking annoying. She's staying for the time being, but I hope someone does something good with her. Nothing about her seems appealing.

Busiek is the bomb. He gets Superman and knows him inside and out. I love how he doesn't try to reinvent him like Johns is doing (more like make him all Silver Age) but uses everything up to this point in history set-up for what he is now.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. When you say it it's like the Lord himself said it. What is up with Supergirl I just don't get the appeal. I think you hit the nail on the head about Johns. I get it you're trying to revive your childhood but that isn't my childhood so let it go man. Grow up.

This definitely would've gone under that favourite Superman story in that meme, if not for the restraint. :p

I just love whole feel of the book and its beautiful simplicity. Warm, heartbreaking and ultimately uplifting at the same time. It's a life well-led.

And Wally asking Supes for an autograph using his heat vision is a particularly endearing moment for me. :D

Heh I know that was sooooooo difficult. I could have probably made an essay out of the response.

I can see that and in fact I giggled when I saw it but at the same time it was kind of melancholy. Like he never felt like he belonged in a way. But then I'm all yeah The Flash woot
woot! LOL.
