I saw the head of my OB-GYN's practice yesterday. (For the uninitiated, if you're preggers and there's more than one doc at the practice, you're supposed to see every doctor while you're pregnant just in case *your* doc isn't on call when you go into labor... that way, you're not laboring in front of a stranger ( Read more... )

Well, mine was 9 pounds, 5 ounces and I wouldn't wish that on anybody! It seems lately that almost all of the new babies I've been reading about on the internet have been at least 9 pounds. Here's wishing you a nice little 8-pounder!

Paige was 6lbs and Nolan was 8lbs (they told me he was going to be BIG)and I didn't really notice much difference in labour. Keep in mind Nolan had a Fused skull that didn't reshape under pressure. Try passing THAT with any fashion of comfort. I'm sending you all my strongest "smooth labour" vibes in advance.

Agh - fused skull? Was he okay afterwards? Were you able to forgive him?

Yes it's called craniosynostosis (or cranio for short). It was causing his head to grow in a strange football shape. He had to have surgery to cut the fused plates apart when he was 4 mos. His head is looking great now and i forgave him the second I saw his gorgeous little face.
