President Obama said to let it go, that the verdict was given and we should respect that.  So why aren’t people? It’s over with, we can’t do anything about it except make sure it won’t happen again.  So please LET IT GO!

Oh, and stop saying Zimmerman is white, HE’S  MULTI-RACIAL HISPANIC AMERICAN, NOT WHITE! GET IT CORRECT!

racism, race, united states of america

Because the president's opinion doesn't and shouldn't hold dictatorial on the thoughts of the rest of the population?

Because we can't make sure it won't happen again without honestly and openly discussing what happened this time, and letting it go will not enable that?

Because what happened this time can basically be summed up in two ways, both of which I stole from Tumblr but are still accurate:

If George Zimmerman had shot a deer without a hunting license, he would have gotten more of a punishment.

And:

He didn't even get charged with manslaughter. You can get charged with manslaughter for running someone down in a car. People have been thrown in jail for firing warning shots that harmed no one, and the 'stand your ground' law was utterly ignored in these cases. George Zimmerman didn't even get charged with manslaughter.

IDK, yo.

Okay, but why focus on this case when there are worse things? I mean it happens all the time and why focus (not that I'm saying it doesn't matter, it does) on this case? And don't say it is racism, it isn't. At least not white and black since Zimmerman identifies as Hispanic(something the media needed to tell us so people don't bitch about white shooting black). Also you are right on the opinion, since Obama tried something with the FBI(I think it was to DPO or DPB, something like that) but was refused.

here: http://youtu.be/01nSGb6waE8 A video about the case and more if you like to read/watch it.

I did point out that it isn't black and white racism. Yes, I shouldn't have put that. Sorry, but I meant that it isn't what the media is saying, a white male against a black male, not that kind of racism.

I do agree with you. I should realize that it won't simmer down, that we want change but I guess I am getting angry that they are only using this case. Then again that is what happened in the past, only a few cases (like Rosa Parks) were used so I should know better.

That's fine.

Thank you for your comments as always. And helping me better understand something a lot of people would say I should know already. (Common sense then again it doesn't always stick for everyone)

because they think he's guilty. there's wasn't a strong case against him. and the "stand your ground" law wasn't even part of the jury instructions. Then you have people like Stevie Wonder to is going to boycott FL and other states that have this law. it's total ignorance.

That is true. I just wish they had stopped to think and tell us that he isn't white, he's hispanic. That is the main issue I have with it, that a lot of people, most, think he is white. ANd then my facebook pointed out that Obama is mad because he can't look into the case or something because the FBI refuse to let him (I'm confused by it sorry), so he lied. I just don't get why people are bitching about this when there are cases like this all the time, I mean I know it is a tragedy but still...plus, there are worse things out there.
I'm going to link a video that I find interesting about the case and the worst things: http://youtu.be/01nSGb6waE8.
