For all motocycle traveling crazies (this weekend)

Besides knowing that we're headed, uh, west-northEast-southEast I haven't a clue what's going on. I think the plan is to meet somewhere on 58 on Saturday but don't really know. What I DO know is rain may be headed our way -- forecast calls for moisture every day ( Read more... )

your route sounds correct! I think the thought is meeting in Emporia and possibly camping there the first evening (found this as a possible site. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park - Emporia - 2940 Sussex Drive, Emporia, VA 23847). I'm also printing a list of camp sites but I'm not sure how complete it is. Also, Chelsea pointed me to a web site on swimming holes in VA so I'm printing that list out as well. On to your questions ( ... )

I plan on coming the whole time folks. Once we get to Waynesboro that is where I'm staying as Alexander has a swim meet in Waynesboro the 19th-21st. So if you plan on bringing alot of stuff to haul in mommy van make sure you can either carry it back home with you or can live without it long enough until I return to Richmond to bring it to you. As for riding in rain, it won't bother me. :P Camping in rain bites a bit as I don't think my tent will stay dry. I guess I can sleep in mommy van if need be and whoever else can cram in. It certainly can't rain everyday can it? I'm guessing an afternoon shower/storm will happen when it's hot out. Who is on our attendee list? Has anyone mentioned coming to Waynesboro if they aren't coming on the trip? I think Mel and Anthony had said at one point they would come hang out in Waynesboro. I'd like to know how many people to plan for although I won't be buying food till we get here or it will just sit in the fridge for a week ( ... )

sounds awesome! the only thing I can't carry on the scoot would be the cooler if we need it and I can live without it for a while if need be. If it's raining horribly I wouldn't be opposed to splitting a room somewhere. Even though we're technically waterproof (thanks skin!), a tent that doesn't start dry can't stay dry after all... I'm completely expecting it to rain at least 40% of the time so i'm mentally ready for riding in rain ( ... )
