Loved it! Awwww Poor Laurie! He did with a good intention, even if Ralph can't really see that right now. I do like how you got both character's perspective, and I can see how Ralph would feel betrayed in a sense. "I trusted you." awww so good.
Can't wait for Part 3!

Oops! I sympathize with Laurie having to let Ralph know that not only did he show his work, his summer job is working for the literary agent.

Not surprising that Ralph is drinking his lunch, but at least he hasn't torn up the contract. Yet.

Ralph's reaction here is perfect - I especially liked And now a good idea would be to put my private thoughts in print with my name on it for everyone to examine. And Laurie actually thinks that Ralph's the one who tries to organise other people's lives for them, not realising for a moment that he does too!

Thanks. This little series has taken a lot of thought, to tell you the truth. I really want to try to get the reactions right. I agree about Laurie. He and Ralph are much alike. That's probably why they usually get on so well (except when they don't *grin*).
