The greater the love, the more false to its object... (Part 1)

Feb 12, 2011 11:08

This is based on the characters from Mary Renault's The Charioteer. In it, Laurie is in trouble with Ralph. It is G rated. The characters belong to Ms. Renault and I make no profit from them.

Poor Laurie. It's hard to have the one you care about most so angry with you - whether you deserve it or not.

Thanks for reading. Yes, poor Laurie did mess up. Things may get worse before they get better. ;)

And this is only Confession Part One: Ralph still doesn't know he's going to finish up a published author.

Oh I look forward to see how this concludes. Poor Laurie, always does seem to be getting himself in a mess

Poor Ralph: he did trust Laurie with his privacy.

Poor Laurie: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Excellent - I'm glad you have continued writing this, and I see I'm only two days late catching up! Are you not posting on the maryrenaultfics community any more?

I like how Ralph knows that something is going on as soon as Laurie kisses him - and that Laurie is feeling suitably guilty beforehand. It is all rather déjà vu for Ralph at this point!

Thanks. Glad you like it. That just felt right to me. I always felt that Ralph would hate rows and would simply walk out.

No, I'm not posting there. I seem to have a few too many sharp corners for that community. Too bad, but I still am enjoying posting. I'm still polishing the next bit but will have it posted in a few hours.

That's a shame. You have so many valuable insights.

I enjoy talking to other people who also love my favorite novel, so I thought it was too bad, but if a community is happier without one, that is simply the way it is. One goes on, right?

And I'm having a good time posting on my own journal so that works as well. I'm happy for ANYONE from maryrenault to come here to read or comment.
