The only problem with this "dueling administration positions" chant is that, frankly, since the administration all basically incapable of doing anything right and tend to treat reality as malleable, there's always a couple different possibilities in what they say:
1) They're right, and they can do it (HASN'T YET HAPPENED) 2) Their worldview is flawed, but they can actually implement the stupid idea (PROBABLY HASN'T HAPPENED, UNLESS YOU COUNT THE MEDICARE BILL) 3) They're right, but they'll screw up so badly that there's no way to tell that they were (ARGUABLY HAS HAPPENED) 4) The idea is catastrophically stupid, but won't be implementable (ALSO ARGUABLY HAS HAPPENED)
We currently live in the world of arguing between options 3 and 4, which is great to bone up on our rhetorical skills, but doesn't prove jack about what really works.
