Goes without saying:

I am singularly uninterested in the Jackson story.  I’ve seen enough oddball celebrity circuses, and the really interesting and truly weird stuff will not come out for a while for most people.   I expect more news circuses repeated endlessly on the news, and I will ignore them all.

Finally, someone sems to be doing something about rescuing Antioch Read more... )

Regarding Sanford, in light of today's revelations the South Carolina AG has called for an investigation of all of Sanford's travel expenses to see if the taxpayers got caught with the tab.

As for Antioch, I'm glad it may get saved. Although I went to Miami for 4 years I only got up to Yellow Springs once but it was nice to know there was some oasis of counterculture in southwest Ohio.

What you said on Yellow Springs and Antioch. When I lived in Dayton (till I was 20) it was a breath of fresh air.

What, nothing on Private Citizen Coleman and his call to give Tim Pawlenty permission to sign the certificate as ordered to by the MN Supremes?

Interesting how the city council even advanced the notion of cutting police & fire. It seems that's always the first thing - that way citizens can see the cuts and feel the pain. Then they'll cave into the next tax increase. After all, it's not like anything less vital could be cut.

You mean like, maybe, city council salaries?

I think Sanford didn't think beyond himself; look up a combination of 'politician' and 'narcissist', and you'll see him there.

That was me; my browser wasn't logged in.

There's forgiving people and there's being a doormat. I think it's really clear that Mrs. S thinks she's done enough, and if he really did have that its-over trip tho NYC and then did this one, it's far from over - and the soul-mate thing is chilling. I'd never take back somone under that situation. They'd never stay.
