...of course the population will have increased substantially since the last time we were at peak absolute employment numbers.

Will as many young people and immigrants have entered the job market as baby boomers will have retired? (I have no idea; I just wonder.)

I don't know, but I believe it is net positive (retirees < people entering work force)
