It's a Dis-co~ In-fer-no~

So as anyone on the PNW can tell you, we're in the middle of a heat wave right now -- 8:30 in the goddamn morning and it's already nearing 80! Unacceptable. Boy howdy does it make me excited about work, though -- see, we have air conditioning, which (as anyone on the PNW can tell you) a lot of places out here just... don't. We've been spending our ( Read more... )

something to really cry about

I so wish that weather could keep us from school/work/obligations here. The boys played softball in threatening, 40% chance of rain stuff last night. Booo!

We also seem to have y'all's weather here. It's been 60-75, overcast, and rainy for most of the last week.

give it baaaaaaaaaaaaacccck~ [weak little fist-shake]

It's so hilarious, Seattle's inability to cope with weather. An inch of snow is a perfectly good reason for buses to re-route, or not run altogether, and for people to call out from work. We don't have snowplows and they wont use salt (bad for the bay)

It's pretty funny, honestly, and a nice break mid-winter ;D

No, I don't think we'll give it back. I like the rainy cool weather coupled with the location of b-town. Yep, we're keeping it.

One would think that the city with as many waffle shaped streets as Seattle has would invest in 2 or 3 snowplows or, alternatively, put in radiant heat street beds.

I have nothing constructive to add except to chime in with the rejoicing over vinegar/baking soda cleaning agent mixes. I find them pretty handy and like to load up a squirt bottle with it for taking care of general surfaces.

I'm excited to try it! I like the smell in general, and I'd be less worried about harming our cats with it.

Yeah, no kidding. That's one reason why I use it - I have one cat - and the other is cos the last movie theater I worked in swore by it for cleaning any surfaces that people's food might touch. Natural over chemical is gooooood.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I'm always sort of :\ over cleaning our kitchen counter with any actual cleaners. Food and silverware gets put on that! :

I HAD A VERY SIMILAR THOUGHT YESTERDAY. I mean, I get off at 2, which is right in the heat of the day ;;

I am kinda worried about our cats, since they just lie around going flop all day, but they could always go downstairs if they need too.

I-It's not a bad plan! I know it's not going to be anything but hot, once I leave ;;

yeah, it's a tough call -- circulation is all well and good, but it's not like the air out there is any cooler :(

I'm seriously considering going to the library in a little while. Maybe spending money I can't afford to on a long lunch in an air conditioned building and then going to the library to read a really hilariously awful teen harlequin romance based on the mythos of Mulan.

But I would have to put clothes on. And clothes seem like such a waste right now.

That's a good plan! Airconditioning and entertainment, anyway!

We were on the Ave for dinner last night and had a heck of a time finding somewhere air conditioned >->;

I am there now. The U-District one is not actually air conditioned ;o; but it's not sweltering, either.

AND I FOUND A YA ROMANCE MARY SUE RETELLING OF MULAN. I'm set for a few hours.

Get this get this: not only was she born in the year of the Monkey, she was born in the month of the Dog AND the Tiger zodiac is her spirit animal.

And she has a dead mother and her dad is the GREATEST SOLDIER WHO HAS EVER LIVED and rescued her future love interest when the kid was like 10.

uwaaaah this heat is so miserable. We don't have A/C where I work, but it is still sheltered enough to be tolerable. However, a lot of equipment has been breaking down here because it needs to stay supercooled and apparently this heat is defeating liquid helium! D: I used to love heat.

gaaaaah, I'd believe it

I love heat too! I'd much rather have it than hot, but man. Not like this! T-Too much...
