There is just something cats love about Christmas trees. Maybe it's because it's new so they have to claim it as their own, or maybe it's all the shiny and tempting baubles. Cheetah used to sit on top of the presents (which was a problem for those awkward boxes that had spaces out of them), or she'd try to eat some of the ornaments. Then she'd track pine needles (fake, but still annoying) all over the house.
I'd love to have a Christmas tree, but that's out of question with my beasties. I have all my Christmas decoration on a chain which spans from one side of the room to the other, just underneath the ceiling. Otherwise, the cats would rip everything apart. Especially Buttons and Agatha; anything sparkly or dangly is of greatest interest to them!
