I have been following this terrible story all day. So sad that the loss of the ship has been confirmed and that the two crew members are still missing. My thoughts are with their families and loved ones. Tragic.

You know, there's probably someone, or a group or organization connected to the ship, that will be glad to get an email of that photo at some point in the near future ... just an idea ...

Lady Washington goes back even further too - it was used in "Star Trek: Generations" in 1994 in a humorous holodeck-based promotion ceremony. :-)

When I watched POTC for the first time I squinted a lot and wondered why it looked so familiar ... having been a Trekkie from way back.

I didn't realize that the tall-ships version of the Enterprise was the Lady Washington! How wonderful!

A number of the young'uns on Tumblr found a photo of Marina Sirtis in the uniform and were enthusing over the pretty lady officer WITHOUT KNOWING WHO SHE WAS. I set them straight and felt very, very old.

Was that the Edinburgh Trader in POTC, or Beckett's ship? (I'm blanking on the name right now.) I think it was the latter but haven't watched in so long I don't recall.

Here in the Midwest I had to walk to Subway for lunch and the wind was worse than it had been when I came in to work just a few hours earlier, and we are several hundred miles inland. One of the few times I'm glad to be landlocked. :-/
