POTC 4: Behind the scenes snippets - too many officers and not enough tars?

Dec 19, 2010 22:43

There's a short video available now with "behind the scenes" footage - of special interest to those of us who love the navy boys. While it's good to see Gillette and Groves back (and wearing the blues again), I have to wonder...

... if there are more officers than tars, will Gillette and Groves have to do the cooking? )

potc, movies, damian o'hare, groves, potc 4, gillette

Grandma would've said "too many chiefs, not enough Indians." Which, since I have a great deal of Native American in me, I think I can still get away with saying! :-)

Heh! Here, the saying is something like "too many commanders and not enough soldiers". Well, I think the tinsel was deemed to be more "decorative" than regular Jack Tar, but who knows, they might CGI-in hundreds of AS. At least I'm slowly beginning to recover from my IKEA trauma.

If there are Gillette and Groves action figures, I will buy them for the sole purpose of having them do naughty things to each other.

I wanna write some fanfiction where Gillette plans mutiny against Barbossa during the whole film. Also, the idea of Groves sitting on Barbossa's lap for story time about Jack Sparrow amuses me. Crack fic? Why yes!

In that case let's hope they won't be LEGO figures; that would be really awkward. :)

I love how the trailer makes me want to write fanfic more than all of the last movie! That aside... *feeds your plot bunnies carrots*

But with LEGO figures, we get mini-movies! (You have seen the one with Jack and Elizabeth running around the long-suffering Will, who's stuck having to fix their shit on his anvil, yes? *G*)

Oh, that's a good point! There will be the LEGO game, so LEGO figures are not completely impossible.

I don't think so! Do you have a link? This sounds like something that I have to see. :-D

Yay! *g* No, *G*! In shifts or simultaneously?

Ahem.
Maybe it's a Very Big Ship. And tars aren't invited for the briefing. Or the camera is amidst the first rows. And by the way, isn't it Gibbs over there, in front? (You know, I'm starting to wonder, who of all three Mr G. would be the biggest threat between pots?)

I don't think I'd want to try anything those two are cooking out, unless it's a mutiny or something of that kind. :-D For some reasons, I think Gillette would be a truly terrible cook (I have no idea why!)

Yes, Gibbs is there, and from all the snippets I've seen so far, I think he's returned to the navy (though probably only temporarily). Btw. I always thought that he used to be the bosun in the beginning of the first movie (when Norrington was still a lieutenant); do you know if that was the case?

I can't recall any official mention about it, but he looks as bosun as possible. It's enough. :)

But probably could impel potatoes to peel themselves with a glare only. ;)

Action figures would be nice (even though likely too expensive for me) but I couldn't see buying them without a matching Norrington, sans any reminders he even appeared in 2 and 3!

I'm still pretty firm in waiting to watch it once I hear reviews of it from other people. After POTC 2, I decided I wasn't ever going to waste money on that franchise again. Still haven't seen POTC 3.

If they really make Gillette and Groves, I *might* consider saving up for a customised Norrington. They'd feel lost, otherwise. As for the prices: there seem to be wide range, from very cheap to exclusive collectibles, and on Ebay, you can always find a bargain. Finger's crossed!

There will be tons of reviews, so no need to waste money in case you don't like it.

I ... initially read "customised" as "circumcised."

Jack: Seems th' Little Admiral forgot his jacket-

Will: JACK!

Jack: *confused* What now??

Will: .... I don't know. Some unseen force is making me say these things. Carry on.

*howl* Oh my Gods, that's hilarious. :-D And I can so imagine Jack saying this! (Though I have to wonder in what situation Jack and Will would catch a glimpse of the... jacket-less Norrington!)

Wonder who'll be the fairy on the top of the tree?? ;)
