A-Filking We Will Go

Mar 09, 2008 22:55

I'm afraid between me and the other pregnant lady at the housefilk last night, we sort of monopolized it with pregnancy talk. I did, however, write a filk on the subject, so maybe autographedcat and kitanzi thought it was ok after all.

This is as opposed to plain breastfilk, which I'm sure is also out there.

Remember not to sing this too late at the circles, or the mothers will have already been dragged to bed. (I remember Bill Roper at FenCon referring to their "biological alarm clock")

Not a problem at all, and I like the filk you came up with! (And Dave's, too!)

Would you nurse him in a train?
Would you nurse him in the rain?

Yes, in the rain, yes on a train!
I will nurse him here or there,
I will nurse him anywhere!

Oh, it was fine. Besides, with two pregnant women there, it was probably somewhat inevitable. :)

(Hmm, "breastmilkfilk."...)

Milkfilk. Mifilk? MilF?

Nah.

Are you saying that MILF really stands for "Moms I'd Like to Filk?

Would Miss Catie be interested in the "Happiest Baby on the Block" DVD, with Dr. Karp's advice on baby soothing? I have an extra copy here. I also have a new, unmarked baby journal that I picked up at a consignment sale and then decided not to use. Let me know if either of these might be useful, and we can arrange to get them to Catie.

I'm not sure, I'll check with her. Brendan was born on Friday at 6:13 pm, coming in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 23" long. Mom and baby are both doing well. I'll be posting more on my lj, probably tomorrow. I've been at the hospital with them most of the weekend and haven't had time to do much of anything since then.
