I cooked tonight, because I ran out of time yesterday. I made chickpea curry and an egg-less, milk-less chocolate cake. The cake isn't bad. It's got a kind of funny aftertaste, but it's not actually off-putting.

Also, I am 24 hours ant-free. So, hurray for talc.

Now for Bing Bang, then Castle, then bed.

Lying on the couch watching Top Gear and trying to ignore low-grade cyst pain. I have an hour before I have to get up and head out to a department dinner.

Drove in to Toronto this afternoon. Warm spring afternoon, sun shining, windows down, Barenaked Ladies blasting. My favourite kind of drive.

Ok. It's now 4pm. I have done three loads of laundry, washed, dried and folded (including sheets and towels). I have cleaned the bathroom (including scubbing the floor). I baked a loaf of bread (it came out better this time, but not great), and cooked a batch of pancakes. I washed an enormous sinkful of dishes. And I have been grocery shopping for ( Read more... )

I had my hair cut today, and I LOVE it. I went to a new place, and the lady knew how to cut for curly hair. AND she showed me some tricks for how to manage it. This will involve buying a hairdryer. I am, perhaps, the only woman on earth who doesn't own one.

In other news, jet lag is kicking my ass.

My hair is waist length again, which means it's spending all its time twisted up in a bun. Which makes me wonder why the hell I keep it long in the first place ( Read more... )

It's the end of the month, and I've been writing on my blog pretty consistently since the end of December. I'm quite proud that I've been good about keeping it up. And I've actually really enjoyed doing the writing. I've also started updating my travel blog with stuff from my Morocco trip. I'm back to dancing regularly. Really regularly. Since the beginning of January, I've been taking 6 classes a week. And, given that I've been a complete blob for the last ten months, it's all coming back much more quickly than I expected.
