I guess it shouldn't be surprising that, in this economic climate, "my shirt is bankrupt" (coined by
scifantasy here to mean that one is behind on posting; the original expression regarding "bankrupt pants" was invented
here), at least in terms of what I've covered over the past couple of months. This is my attempt to fill in gaps.

Glad to run into you last night - am curious: what did you think of the lesson/dancing?
Reply
I enjoyed the dancing, but I had expected more structure. Also, having rotated partners once, I expected additional rotations.
How are dance lessons elsewhere?

how much rotation is variable. It's usually intended, but sometimes instructors forget. some instructors permit folk who really don't want to rotate to not rotate, but it's usually a good idea to rotate partners.
i tend to spend time with Flyingfeet, who teach Monday nights at Glen Echo. There are of course a bunch of other places to learn Swing and Ballroom, though I'm less familiar with the North. ChilesSwing up in Catonsville is likely okay for swing/lindy - I think I've done a class or two with him back when Frankie would come through Baltimore.
