After some searching, we finally found a house that we really loved on Friday. It's a three bedroom, 3 year old, 3 level house. The basement is unfinished, leaving plenty of room for improvement. Last week, Ashley's laptop started getting very flaky. The screen would go blank. It was still clearly powered, but totally non-responsive. Sometimes it'd boot up part way and then blank, sometimes it'd just be blank from power-on. For a while, it was more likely to boot sideways. I am now, officially unemployed. I have relinquished my parking pass, keys, ID, and (more unfortunately) my laptop. The acceptance letter is signed.  I start work on January 8th, nominally, though that's probably open to some negotiation based on what my current employer says.  Now I just need to break the news to same-said current employer... not really looking forward to that.  Von is a good guy and I doubt he'll be happy about losing me.  C'est la vie.

Animaniacs definitely does not disappoint.  Some of this stuff is even funnier now that I'm old enough to get the jokes.

So, every so often Ashley and I would ask each other when the heck Warner Brothers was going to release Animaniacs on DVD. Well, it turns out the answer is: last summer.

We just rented the entire first volume (550 minutes of episodes), and will likely order at least the first volume and perhaps the second volume off of Amazon.  Good squishy.

So lost in the excitement of the last few days was the fact that Ashley got into a fender bender Sunday night (technically Monday morning). Pretty much went as I'd expected. He met me half-way, I accepted.  Hooray!

I'm nominally starting on January 8th, though that's subject to working things out with my current employer.  I need to get on the ball with a bunch of that.

It's done. It was difficult, but I think I did really well. Seven programmers asked me eight problems. I more or less nailed most of them, but hung up on a few of them and needed some pointers/hints, but in the end I felt pretty good about how all of them turned out.  I think they'll offer me a job; I just hope they offer to pay me good money ( Read more... )
