Once upon a time I knew a crazy man who wanted to abolish automobiles.

Here in Columbus, Ohio, as an example, there has been a push from central planners to get light rail started between Delaware and Columbus. Several times bond issues have been put on the ballot to get the ball rolling ( ... )

I just want to have the option of public transportation so that we can share one car. I will not be going car-free, but having access to light rail for the occasional trip into the city would be wonderful, because then we can manage with one vehicle instead of two. Cutting back on the utter dependence on a car improves even if it doesn't solve.

I have a home at the end of a road that isn't maintained. A preview of the breakdown of civilization.

People don't live here long without trading in their flimsy-mobiles for Jeeps (like me) or pickups.

I, for one, would love an aircar. But only if I could pilot it myself.
