The beginning of the weird liminal time...

My lists for the move are getting out of control. This is mostly because coordination is more complex with Jeff in Dallas for bridge nationals (he left this morning), and both of us going to Ohio before leaving for Seattle. I decided this morning to create a free Backpack account just to keep all the lists in one spot where both Jeff and I can ( Read more... )

Yeah, I realized right after I left last night that maybe I should've been staying around to say more goodbyes. I rushed out because I knew I had about an hour or so of cleaning that I wanted to do, but still felt a little bad. That's okay, I'm sure I will see people again, in Austin or Seattle.

I'm definitely looking forward to early May, when the dust more or less settles, but I'll miss Austin.

Well, I already have friends in Seattle, so I'll definitely come visit once everyone's settled in.

Cool!

You could always just move to Seattle with the rest of the exodus, too... ;-)

Yeah, I'm a troublemaker, I know.

That's what Jeff suggested as soon as I told him I was jobhunting in other cities. I haven't ruled it out.

One never knows when a goodbye is a last goodbye -- that's part of "live every day as though it were your last". And what we may think think is a last goodbye may not be -- there remain possibilities of meeting up at some time in the future, and for those who believe in an afterlife, there's never a last goodbye. :-)

I think I've had too many things change on me after I last dealt with them and before I got back to them to get too upset about it anymore (at least when I'm feeling philosophical) -- the world fluctuates and we never know when something will have changed. That's not good or bad; it just is.

I'll probably see you at least once more before you go to Seattle, and I'll probably see you at least once after you move there. And if not, well, I love both you and Jeff and I'll be thinking of y'all.

Cheers,
Matt
