A Loss and a Gain

In about 7 hours it will be a year since I lost one of the most important people in my life, my mom's mother. She made it just past her 94th birthday and we couldn't have asked for a better way for her to leave the world: in bed, at peace, with my mom and myself by her side. Hey, Jonny.

I am having issues with BOTH my grandmothers this year. One is ill and one is getting over being ill (although she will never be the same). Makes me think about my own mortality. It sucks.

I was very lucky to have both of my grandmothers for the first 22 years of my life but then I lost them both within a year of each other. They both lived happy, full lives though (the one I referred to in this post had just turned 94!!).

I don't know who you are or how old you are though so I can't comment on your mortality. LOL. Of course that's something we all wonder about at times in our lives ...but I suspect if you're young enough to be reading my LiveJournal you must have at least a few more years left in you. :)
